Arash AF-8

These are the first renderings of the AF-8, a car currently being developed by UK-based Arash Motor Co., formerly known as Farboud Ltd. As a supplement to the forthcoming AF-10 set to be revealed later this year, the 'entry-level' AF-8 aims to be more of an everyday car. It is expected to be on sale in 2010.

Built atop a composite steel-carbon chassis and cloaked in a lightweight carbon fiber body, the new car is lighter than its larger sibling and employs a host of functional design elements; including aerodynamic-enhancing separate front wings, an active rear wing and a fixed rear diffuser. A dihedral reflex aperture located behind the front wheels in the outer door skin allows for air pressure release and hot air relief from the front brakes.

Though we aren't able to show you renderings of the interior just yet, company founder Farboud tells us: "We were able to achieve some fantastic styling results [with the GTS] and in essence a very impressive production car. I expect the same results and more with AF-10 and AF-8."
