BMW 7 Series

BMW has revealed the 5th generation of its flagship 7 Series sedan, which will debut at the Paris Motor Show in October.

The new car's simple design aesthetic appears far less controversial than that of its forebear, with only a few lines - starting from the larger kidney grille and LED lamps at the front - running the length of the car intersecting with the door handles. The trunklid design is decidedly more conservative as well, while revised rear lamps continue the design theme seen on newer BMWs.

Both wider and longer than the model it replaces, the new 7 Series is also lower and a bit lighter. Measuring 5.07m long, 1.9m wide and 1.48m high, the new car offers more interior space thanks to a wheelbase that has been extended 80mm to 3.07m. Li versions see the wheelbase stretched to 3.21m. Extensive use of aluminum for the roof, hood, doors, side panels and components have enabled the newcomer to reduce overall weight by 29kg.
