Cadillac SRX
Cadillac has released a few images of the next-generation SRX, which will be making its unofficial debut at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance this weekend alongside some of GM's fabled Motorama showcars.
Virtually identical to the Provoq concept unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in January (and subsequently in Detroit), the new car is intended to bring a more dynamic alternative to the heart of the luxury crossover segment, and retains the
angular styling, DLO shape and dynamic A-line of the fuel-cell concept. As fuel prices continue to escalate, Cadillac has decided to downsize the SRX, making this a five-seater rather than a seven-seat vehicle as was its predecessor.
The all-new SRX, which debuts at major global auto shows later this year, is expected to be built on GM's new Theta platform, which will also underpin the forthcoming 9-4x from Saab. It will be launched worldwide in mid-2009.
