Citroen C-Metisse concept
Citroen has released pictures of the dramatic-looking C-Metisse show car, a study of a grand tourer whose hybrid powertrain aims to balance the performance/economy equation. Just as the body style mixes sedan with estate, the engine blends diesel with electricity, with figures of 155mph and 45mpg claimed - if not at the same time.
The C-Metisse furthers Citroen's reputation for arresting show cars, the concept also surprising
with four upward-opening doors as did Chrysler with the Lamborghini Portofino concept in 1987. The interior similarly reminds of this, having four seats braced about a dominant central tunnel. The concept is powered by a diesel hybrid, unusually arranged so that the front two wheels are driven by the V6 ICE, the rear pair by electric motors, with a combined output of 250PS. That, with a kerbweight of 1400kg, means 0-60mph is completed in 6.2s and 50-75mph in 4.2s. Key dimensions for the Citroen C-Metisse concept are: length 4740mm, height 1240 mm, width 2000mm.
