Daihatsu has released a photograph of their new concept, the D-Compact X-Over, which was developed in conjunction with ItalDesign. While vehicles described as 'crossover' in America currently equate to lo-fat SUV's, as exemplified by cars such as the Mazda CX-7, the Japan/Italian vision is reduced yet further, the Daihatsu sitting in the B-segment to rival the Mazda2 instead.
The Daihatsu D-Compact X-Over was developed around a 'Natural Harmony' theme, and has architecture distinguished by a windshield extending over the rear seats. It will be unveiled alongside the Materia compact car at the Paris Motor Show later this month.
