Haima H2

Haima Auto, based in Hainan China, has officially released images of the H2 MPV set to be unveiled at the forthcoming Auto China 2008 in Beijing.

The company has long-standing ties with Japanese manufacturer Mazda - assembling and selling rebadged vehicles for number of years - and has consistently ranked near the top in domestic sales figures. Because of this Haima has been reluctant to develop their own designs until now.

Based on Mazda Premacy platform, the H2 MPV appears to have a modern front-end design, which resembles the Skoda Roomster's and a generally well-resolved aesthetic.

It is expected that a number of manufacturers will have MPV models on display at Auto China 2008, and it will certainly be interesting to see just how these manufacturers are going to sell seven passenger MPVs in a country where having more than one child per family is forbidden by law.

Production of the Haima H2 is expected to begin in the second half of 2008
