In New York this year, Hyundai revealed the production version of the much anticipated Genesis Coupe, following the release of the Genesis sedan concept revealed at the show last year.

Pitted against the likes of Infinity G37, the Genesis Coupe will be given the task of breaking into the small, but ultra-competitive mid-luxury coupe segment. Shown as the Genesis Concept at the LA Show, this production version coupe has kept just about all of the concept cars' styling cues, including the unique DLO 'dip', 19-inch wheels and the Z-shaped character line in the body side.

Hyundai, like Toyota nearly two decades ago, intends to move its vehicle portfolio more upscale, shedding the images of cheap, entry-level cars. This latest entry into the luxury vehicle segment clearly announces the Korean automaker's ambitions.
