Ken Okuyama Design concepts

Ex-Pininfarina head Ken Okuyama unveiled the K.07, a pre-production roadster, and the coupe K.08 version built on the same architecture, at the Geneva Motor Show.

Built from aerospace dry carbon, stamped aluminum panels devoid of paint and milled alloy, the K.07 weighs in at a scant 750kg and takes a page from the Ariel Atom in its spartan design.

While the K.07 is powered by a 2.0-liter powerplant sourced from Toyota, the K.08 Coupe, which consists of glass windows, a roof and fixed fenders, is powered by a rear-mounted electric engine with Lithium-Ion batteries stacked mid-ship on three levels, improving weight distribution.

Capacity at the Ichinoseki factory where the car will be built is at 100 units annually, with 60 percent of the orders expected to be for the topless car.
