Maserati Chicane concept
The Istituto Europeo di Design of Turin (IED) is set to unveil this interpretation of a Maserati sport coupe at the forthcoming Geneva Auto Show. Called the Chicane, the full-scale model - based on an initial idea by students Dmytro Zyubyairov and Oscar Palladino - was born out of a desire to create a vehicle with stylistic features worthy of the Maserati Trident badge.
The compact 2+2 coupé measures 4400mm long, 1850mm wide, 1250mm high, and has a
2600mm wheelbase. The design is a seductive aesthetic with strong impact, heightened by the plasticity of the volumes. Heralded as a ‘dynamic sculpture, whose harmonic and elegant design conceals power and a sporting attitude', the Chicane features a front-mounted V8 engine and rear wheel drive. It has been designed to cater to those who value refined forms and high performance.
Stay tuned for our impressions of the concept when we see the 1:1 model in the flesh at the Geneva Auto Show.
