Pontiac G8 GXP
Pontiac has released the photos of its new Sports Sedan for the North American market, the G8 GXP. It will be officially unveiled at the New York Auto Show later today.
Sharing the same rear wheel drive package and most of the major body panels with the Australian Holden Commodore, G8 GXP sits on 19-inch aluminum wheels, with robust wheelarches, displaying fine sports sedan proportions and profile. Hampered by the boxy graphic outlines of the more than two year old Holden (even with the distinctive Pontiac grille present) the G
XP fails to distinguish itself styling wise.
Pontiac's new GXP will likely be a low-volume niche performance vehicle. And with oil reaching record per barrel prices and growing interest in smaller, more fuel-efficient cars, it will be interesting to see how this vehicle will fare when it hits the showroom.
