Samsung SM7

Renault Samsung has just released official photos of its new SM7 flagship sedan. Along with the Ssangyong Chairman and the Hyundai Genesis, this is the third luxury vehicle to be released by Korean manufacturers only two months in to 2008.

Dubbed 'New Art', the new SM7 has gone through its first redesign in three years with the vehicle development taking more than 24 months at a cost of $100 million. Measuring 4,950mm long, 1,785mm wide, 1,475mm high and on a 2,775mm-long wheelbase, Samsung claims the new SM7 displays full luxury with a delicate harmony of vertical aspects of design and organic curves.

The most significant aspect of the new design is at the front, where three vertical divisions of the bumper volume distinguish the front face. The rear-end styling displays robust characteristics around the trunk and bumper surfaces, with the mixture of sharp-edged surface division mixing in with large trunk volume. Details such as a dual exhausts and LED taillamps have been fitted to give a luxurious look.
