Mercedes-Benz Concept Ocean Drive

Set for the premiere at next month's Detroit Auto Show, Mercedes have released photos of the Concept Ocean Drive, a four-door, soft-top convertible. Displaying a similar proportion and basing much of its features on the Mercedes-Benz S600, it might be an indication that Concept Ocean Drive will be on the production schedule relatively soon, either as a derivative of the S-Class, or as a stand-alone model.

With typical Mercedes' long-hood, short-overhang sitting on a lengthy wheelbase, the Ocean Drive Concept displays a luxurious and refined image befitting that of the glitzy Southern Californian life.

Apart from the four doors, the outward distinguishing marks of the concept car include a very large and upright radiator grille, LED headlamps and taillights, two-tone paintwork and a striking interplay between taut lines and large, restful surfaces. This lends the one-off special an air of effortless superiority, power, elegance and forward-flowing energy.
