The car Pontiac claims will be the new ‘segment-defining vehicle' is anticipated to define the light truck segment, which has been steadily losing sales to smaller and passenger orientated vehicles in the last few years.

With a two-seat profile and a cargo bed offering more than 1200-liters of space, the G8 Sports Truck will be powered by 6.0-liter V8 - the same powerplant fitted to the G8 sedan - allowing the vehicle to load 487 kilograms of payload. It is expected to be released in 2009.
