Volkswagen Tiguan
Following the sketch released earlier this year, Volkswagen has unveiled photos of their compact SUV, the Tiguan, to be launched at the Los Angeles Auto Show. First previewed by the Concept A, the Tiguan will rival the Honda CRV and Land Rover Freeland
er when it goes into production at the end of next year.
The Tiguan is in keeping with the larger Touareg SUV, particularly in the bodyside section around the rear and the DLO graphic. Klaus Bischoff, who was responsible for the exterior design, said "it
was very important for us to have the car appear powerful and muscular. For us that was a higher priority than anything else. An off-roader needs a long hood and an upright position. That lends the vehicle self-assuredness and power." Furthering this are the squared arches, which helps differentiate the vehicle paint-scheme aside. Other features include the anthracite alloy wheels with orange detail, and the dark-anodised metallic tone of the grille. Inside the interior keeps a similar feel to the Golf Plus on which it is based. Measurements are also close, key dimensions for the VW Tiguan being: length 4.40m, width 1.85m, height 1.69m.
